Shanghai International Science and Art Fair“Peking Opera Faces”Reviving Traditional Art-Forms with New Media
New Media lets the younger generation discover the cultural legacy of Peking Opera. When the audience enters the space, they will immediately be enticed by twelve 3D opera masks that follow one's every movement. On the central moon-shaped projection screen a white face awaits the audience's interaction. If a visitor successfully paints one of the twelve masks, the static character suddenly comes to life and performs his most famous aria. If on the other hand you fail, an angry white face will scare the audience.
